goal & play

goal

Move all 52 cards to the four foundations at the top — one suit per foundation, in order from ace to king: ace, 2, 3 … jack, queen, king.

Seven piles: the first holds a single face-up card, the seventh six face-down cards with one face up on top. Piles are built downward in alternating colors: only a black six goes on a red seven, only a red ten on a black jack. You may move the top card or a whole built sequence, king to ace if you have one; an empty pile takes a king alone or a king with its sequence. A face-down card flips by itself once it is on top. The stock hands its cards to the waste one at a time and only the top one is playable; once it runs out, the next click turns the waste back, with no limit on passes. A waste that runs empty draws from the stock by itself — a helper you can switch off in the game menu.

nuances

The top card of a foundation may be taken back into play when you need it.

tactics

Uncover face-down cards first, starting with the longest piles — a card buried under six face-down ones decides the game far more often than one more ace on a foundation.
